How do I get rid of a wasps nest?

Question:Can I spray them with the hose and then take the nest down cause I love animals and even bugs and I dont want them to die?

Answers:
spray with hose or bug spray and then run

If you don't want to hurt them, just leave it be until you get a frost in the fall, then take it down on a cool morning, and put it in a plastic bag, and haul it away. When it's cold out, they aren't as active, and they're more likely to be in the nest.

Otherwise, wait for a cool morning if you get any more where you live, and spray it with hornet and wasp spray.
Wait till winter and then scrape the nest out and put it some place else.
Why can't you just leave them alone?
If you feel the need to destroy the nest and yet not hurt the little suckers...then wait till dusk to do your dirty work. The are less active when the sun goes down...yes I suppose the hose would work at getting the nests down..be careful in the morning though...there may be a swat team waitin' for ya
Only if you don't mind getting stung in the process.
DO NOT spray them with a garden hose.unless you are an Olympic sprinter capable of running 70 miles per hour...the wasps will try to attack you (just ask my brother, poor guy).
If you don't want them to die then perhaps you should put a boom box playing some obnoxious crap music, errr, I mean rap music close to the nest.if the wasps have any sense at all, they will move ;-)
If they are a danger to you or your family( someone may be allergic) then ,shall we say, you will have to dispose them. I had the a nest over my back door.
Wait until late afternoon, early evening. At that time you will notice they are all coming back to the nest;this doesn't take long. When there is no more activity, then spray the wasp spray in the hole where they entered and the outside.Check it in the morning and there should be no activity.
What I did was save it for my daughter's science class
Hose will not work unless getting stung and keeping your wasps is the goal. Find an effective spray and kill all that you see (this might not work if it is a large enclosed "beehive" type nest). After the spraying put up a wasp trap and in winter romove nest
