Is it safe to put an ordinary mini-fridge outside on a deck (using a grounded outdoor outlet)?
Question:
Answers:
Its fine I put them in outdoor bbq Islands all the time.
make sure outlet is GFI protected.
Not on the deck, some laws require that you remove the door on the refrig, since kids have a haibit of going inside, thus getting sufficated inside.
Sure why not!! I have a freezer on mine and the only thing is that it might rust a bit but it still works great . Thats what grounding is for is to divert electricity and preventing it from shorting out from whatever and starting a fire .
From an electrical safety standpoint if it is plugged into a GFI outlet as all exterior outlets should be it will be quit safe. How long it will last out in the weather is dependent on the quality of the fridge and how much weather it will get.
