Bug help!!!!!!!?

Question:I live in Indiana and i found a mysterous bug. Its a oragnish color with a black head and small black dots on its back. it also has small fine, almost invisble hair (thats how small they are). its about 2 inches long and about as big as a pinky. its like a classic catipillar with the little legs and stands up to look around type thing. It was founf in an oak tree in the bark. Ive checked everywhere but havent found anything concering if its a moth, butterfly, or posinous (i learned not to pick stuff up like that io bug and got stug). if u could give me a site that might help or u have a clue of what it is. Or mabey even like an online bug person that u can email to talk to. Anything would help!

Here's a great site for bug IDs with a ton of pictures and if you still need help just e-mail the folks at the site and they will help you> http://www.whatsthatbug.com/index.html...

What you described kind of sounds like a Fig Sphinx but it's kind of unusual to see them in Indiana. See if these pictures help: http://www.silkmoths.bizland.com/pficus.
