South London's nice.
Ohhhh... You meant best place in Tyne and Wear ? sorry.
The Readers digest says Blyth in Northumberland is the best place in England to raise a family and it's only nine miles down the road it has inexpensive housing we are spoilt for places to shop have a splendid beach and are handy for a lovely countryside.we have our fair share of idiots but the majority of people are friendly and are decent neighbours.Check it out.
i live in tyne and wear and there is some nice places to live. tynemouth is nice, so is jesmond, prudoe and places in tynedale. and on the wear, washington is ok.
those are my opinions anyway.
ps...blyth is depressing.
Hello
I have lived on Tyneside for 10 years now (came to uni and just couldn't drag myself away, hehe). So I can advise on Tyneside more than Wearside but hope it's helpful anyway.
In Newcastle I would recommend Gosforth, although it's fairly expensive but nearby Kenton is not bad. Jesmond is also fairly expensive and often thought of as desirebale, there are some lovely houses and shops (very liberal middle class kind of area) but some parts are more like student slums and I have to say not that pretty, drunken students late at night and leaving undesirebale objects (I'll let you ponder that) on the footpaths and gardens. In Jesmonds favour though, it has some wonderful houses and local independent shops.
Forest Hall and Benton just outside Newcastle in North Tyneside are nice, as is Whitley Bay and Tynemouth on the coast.
Hexham, Corbridge and Ponteland are very nice but quite expensive as are other towns along the Tyne Valley heading west.
Low Fell in Gateshead is quite nice too as is Rowlands Gill, Crawcrook, Ryton, Wylam and Stocksfield (these areas are a little more rural (I'd say semi-rural).
Some parts of Northumberland are lovely although further from the main Cities of Newcaslte and even further, Sunderland. But the districts of Tynedale, Castle Morpeth and Alnwick are often thought of as more desireable, although some areas of Wansbeck and Blyth Valley are OK too; Cramlington for eample, whilst a typical new town with an older village centre, is nice enough.
It's hard to suggest places because most towns on Tyneside are fairly nice, with some areas less desireable but I suppose it depends what you are looking for.
Hope this is more helpful than confusing and good luck.
the best way is to do a search
