Questions about Terro Liquid Ant Bait (look inside)?
Question:Hi, I really hate ants & this is the first time I have had a mega ant problem in my house. I'm currently using Liquid Terro because apparently, it is a commonly suggested ant killer. I have a few questions about it:
How will the ants take the bait to their queen if it is made out of liquid?
When the product is in use, are there supposed to be less ants (because they're beginning to die) or more ants (because they are attracted to the bait)? [sorry if that question sounds a bit dumb, but I got confused when I saw an increase amount of ants the day after I put it out - im only thirteen so I dont really understand how this works.]
And lastly, what's an estimated amount of days for it to destroy the whole colony?

Often you get more ants after using a bait. It is because, as you guessed, they are attracted to the smell. Although it is a liquid which dries, trust me, they get it back to the nest.
Now te part you will not like. The entire nest, if it is large may very well never die. Ants build up resistance to baits. Your best aproach is to get another bait with another active ingrediant or maybe even three and hit them with all of them.
If they cross in on area to get in your house use Borax and they will not come in. Ant's can not build up resistance to Borax because it is a mechanical killer not a poison.
Go to the store and get RAID ANT KILLER it works great. Spray it all around your floors that meet the outside walls. it will keep them from comeing in and when they try to go out they will die.
First find out where the ants are coming in. Get a jar and collect some ants and take them to the pest control to find out what kind they are as there are ants that will not get back to the queen to kill her, which seems to be the problem. You have to get the right bait for the problem.
Another thing is if you have a humming bird feeder hanging from the house that will attract ants and they will come in the house. Don't leave sugar, honey out in the open or candy.
put them in a dish that is covered, if you have animals, when finish feeding them remove the food from the floor.
If you have a lot of moisture near pipes under the sink you will have a major ant problem. Check for leaky pipes.
