Is it a bad idea to add a generic waterproof mattress pad to a Tempur-pedic mattress?

Question:I have a tempur-pedic mattress, and I know you really CANNOT GET IT WET! But I don't want one of those noisey liners, so I found this waterproof mattress pad at Target. Will that defeat the purpose of having the tempur-pedic ---- in that will the mattress lose it's effect if I add this generic pad to it?

Answers:
It is a good idea. It will make your mattress last longer. Get one with a plastic lining--they are the most effective. Wal-Mart has them for under $30 for King size.
