Bats & Bees......

Question:We live in the country on some acreage and errected a bat house out on the front of our property near our pond 2 years ago. It is was painted black and put up high on a pole per specs. Our problem is it is inhabited by bees instead of bats. How do we get rid of the bees without contaminating the bat house?

Answers:
The bats won't occupy a bat house that has been occupied by bees. A strong hose has worked in the past, if you are brave enough. You will probably have to wait until winter to clear it out with a strong hose and hopefully once the bats come back to your area in spring, after migration, they will take up residence.

The only way will be to contact an animal control company. Not a pest control company. I manage a pest control office and we are great with chemicals, but they are all we know. If you call an animal control company they can help you get rid of the bees and can probably make some suggestions as to how to keep them away and make the bat house better for the bats too. There even humane ones that won't kills the bees at all but relocate them..I do so wonder how they do that. lol
believe me if bats wanted to live there, those bees wouldn't stand a chance.
