Cooker connection?

Question:My friend just pulled her cooker out to find it has been "plugged" into an extension lead and not into a proper mains cooker connection. Im sure this is wrong and flipping dangerous am I right?

Answers:
You are so right! It's a wonder your friend hasn't already been fried. Get an electrician in or someone who knows what they're doing. You don't often get a second chance with 240 volts.
Good luck!

It's not 'dangerous' as the fuse will blow before anything dire happens.

It doesn't comply with BS7671 though.
_Is_ it a cooker or a built-under oven?
it is illegal and your cooker can be condemned, get a qualified gas fitter to check it for you.
If its a single fan assisted oven then by rights it should be plugged into a proper socket, although as long as the extension lead is of the right rating and not exceeding 3 metre's and is earthed this would be OK, but for proper safety it should be wired with the current regulations.
