I have a new toilet and the water supply rough in is wider than the standard 51/2 rough in I can I use this.?

Question:what does this mean and how do I correct it.

Answers:
I think the 5 1/2" rough is how far to the left of the center of the toilet flange the water should come out of the wall or the floor. It is not that critical since they sell flexible hoses of different length that you could bend around to accommodate any amount of offset. Also this would make up any height differences.

Good luck

you may be able to do it with a reducer
If you can replace the quarter turn valve, you may be able to find one with an output the same size as your hose. If not, a reducer is needed. If you can return your hose or haven't bought one, I would go with one of the Watt's stainless FloodSafe hoses that shuts off if there is a sudden change is water pressure (burst plumbing) to prevent floods. Check Amazon if you can't find it at your Menards of HDept
