How to get rid of Ants in my kitchen?
Question:I have tried Raid and the small ant baits and it hasn't worked so far. I have a dog that likes to eat things so I have to be careful what I put down. I vacume and clean the kitchen every day and I don't know what else to do.
Answers:
mix borax (laundry detergent) with sugar and water, leave the solution where the ants pass by, they will think that it is food and bring it back to the nest and more importantly the queen and that should solve the problem for you
A natural remedy for ants is lemon juice - squeeze directly from a lemon or dilute with water and spray.
Good luck!
Well,my mom used to use vinegar, and it worked really well.It does, however stink the place up pretty bad...
Contact a pest control company that will sell you a product made especially for this problem. Also, check your medicine cabinet to make sure that you don't have any spills (like sticky cough syrups) that might be attracting the ants. I jsut found some spilled cough syrup in my cabinet yesterday. Now I know why the ants were coming in!
I've tried just about everything possible to deal with ants. The only thing that has worked for me is Terro Ant Killer. It's a liquid that you place on little paper squares, around where the ants are coming in. It's safe for pets. In fact my son got into a cabinet and got ahold of one of the little squares and ate it. I called poison control and they said that it's one of the least harmful insect killers.
Make sure there is no food or drink where the ants are, if that and cleaning the area doesn't work, the only thing I can suggest is to call a professional.
