Removing plastic film from SS BBQ?

Question:Just purchased a floor model BBQ in stainless steel , there is a protective film on the SS cant see to remove it, comes off in tiny tiny pieces , does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks Neal

I experience the same thing with my BBQ and with my stove vent hood. It's a real pain in the neck. I used WD-40 on the BBQ and a few years later used Goo Gone adhesive remover on the vent hood. The Goo Gone worked better but it still took forever since I could only soak the perimeter of the plastic sheet where it stuck to the SS.
