Tiny house visitors that are driving me mad?

Question:Every evening I have tiny little moths or butterfly like insects entering the living room and flying around at random.
They have 4mm long maggot like bodies with a 1mm girth. Their wing span is aroung 1cm . Yes I have a fine secluded garden and several mature trees around the garden.
Where do these tiny moths come from and what could they be and what is attracting them ? What should be done to discourage their numbers or better still eliminate them entirely ? Can you help me to find a solution dear Friends ? Thanks

Answers:
Moths are attracted to any light source; if you want to keep them out you will need to dim your lights or close your windows! Not much of a choice is it.
Of course, then you will have the problem , as soon as the word gets around your local spider commune that there are tasty pickings flying around your windows, the 8-leggers will set up home across your glass waiting for the six-leggers to fly into their webs! There are electric insect zappers for sale in most multi stores and camping/caravan shops at this time of year, or you could try mosquito netting at the windows.
To differentiate between moths and butterflies, look at their antennae - butterflies are clubbed at the end, moths aren't.

they are probably midges of some sort attracted by light or heat in the house try one of those blue lamps that attract and electrocute insects
I don't suppose they could be termites? Their wings are clear. When its time for them to come out they fly up in the air and mate, then their wings come off, then they die. You would see clear wings on your floor or furniture.
Do you have a window open in the evening when a light is on if so thats why you've got them. If you need the window open for air then get a fine mesh screen to put up so they can't get in. My dogs have a great time chasing bugs at night.
i think we all get them, they are attracted to light you could put up fine netting.
They are probably attracted by the light. We have placed a 'Bug-Zapper' at the back of our property and leave it on all the time. By placing it out there, it draws the flying bugs away from the house. We get fewer flying night-time bugs in the house now. Also, Do you have good screens on your windows and doors?
They don't really hurt anything, I know, but can sure be annoying! Good luck!!
im sorry to hear you. but have you thought about putting up screens or a cheaper alternative could be voiles. i imagine the light and heat attract them. or you could cut back the foliage a little and treat with insecticide but the voiles are better environmentaly. good luck
