Why are the things we buy now days not as good quality as it use to be?
Question:I got a TV that lasted 3 months, pool pump that lasted 2 weeks, dishwasher that leaked the first time I turned it on.
These were not cheep stuff either...what is going on with the companies these day. The things over the past few years things have not been made to last...but now it is worse then ever. Why?
I am about ready to just stop getting new items anymore.

It's called "planned obsolescence." The computer companies got big off of making things that had to be replaced on a regular basis, so now everyone else is trying it. There ought to be a law...
basically, companies are having to cut corners to acheive acceptable profit ratios, and quality is being lowered as a result of that.

I sometimes swear its done on purpose so people have to keep buying new again. Workmanship is not what it used to be either. Trying to make cheap and sell for high prices.
A new refrigerator used to be good for 20 years now they say the average is 7 years. I had one that was one year old and the compressor went out on it. Grrrr
There trying to keep the cost of manufacturing down, so they buy cheep, cheep materials and get cheep illegal help that doesn't care how it's made,or can't understand the language to follow the directions on how to assemble the items.
because of bush ruined the economy all the good companies shut down or moved to china. companies have low pay now creating poor worker performance.
