Fly eating plants?
Question:As well as the Venus FlyTrap, are there any other fly-eating plants that are safe to keep in a bedroom?
Answers:
Yes, try;
- Sundew
- Pitcher plant
there are loads here in Australia, where are you?
Don't keep plants in your bedroom. It will take a out of oxygen at night. Plus plants such as Venus fly trap and pitcher plant require more sun light than what is available in a bedroom. Those plants are very fragile and require lots of care. It should be kept outside under semi covered areas like a gazebo or under large canopied trees.Why do you want to keep a fly eating plant in the bedroom anyway? If you want to get rid of flies I suggest you get the electric fly zappers.
The classification of all flowering plants is currently in a state of flux. In the Cronquist system, the Droseraceae and Nepenthaceae were placed in the order Nepenthales, based on the radial symmetry of their flowers, and their possession of insect-traps. The Sarraceniaceae was placed either in the Nepenthales, or in its own order, the Sarraceniales. The Byblidaceae, Cephalotaceae, and Roridulaceae were placed in the Saxifragales; and the Lentibulariaceae in the Scrophulariales (now subsumed into the Lamiales
In more modern classification, such as that of the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group, the families have been retained, but they have been redistributed amongst several disparate orders. It is also recommended that Drosophyllum be considered in a monotypic family outside the rest of the Droseraceae, probably more closely allied to the Dioncophyllaceae. The current recommendations are shown below (only carnivorous genera are listed):

I'M NOT GOING TO BLIND YOU WITH SCIENCE. YES, THERES QUITE ALOT OF DIFFERENT ONES TO CHOOSE FROM. YES, THEY ARE SAFE AND AS LONG AS YOU HAV THE RIGHT CONDITIONS SUITABLE FOR THEM THEY WILL BE FINE. AS SOMEONE MENTIONED ABOUT HAVING PLANTS IN A BEDROOM I WOULD JUST LIKE TO COVER A FEW POINTS ON THAT. PLANTS GIV OFF OXYGEN IN DAYLIGHT AND CARBON DIOXIDE AT NIGHT .AND YES HOSPITALS DID NOT LIKE PLANTS OR CUT FLOWERS IN A WARD SITUATION. HOWEVER, THE AMOUNT GIVEN OFF IS NEGLIGABLE WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR HEALTH. THE BENEFITS OF HAVING PLANTS IN EVERY ROOM HAV MORE BENEFITS TO YOUR HEALTH THAN AGAINST IT. SO, IT'S BASICALLY LOOK FOR A PLANT YOU LIKE. A GOOD GARDEN CENTRE SHOULD HAV SOMETHING THAT CATCHES YOUR EYE, SORRY FOR THE PUN, CHECK CONDITIONS, ASK ADVICE IF UNSURE, BUY AND ENJOY. HOPE THIS HAS HELPED.
there are loads ... such as pitcher plants ... if you visit some of our boggy places and mosses you will see native plants in the open.
Feng shui practitioners say you should avoid plants in bedrooms because they give off bad vibes . . .
