Has any one ever seen beetles eating roses, what are they and how to get rid of them.?

Yes, they are japanese beetles and they are horrible. Use a spray containing sevin in it. You can find it at a plant nursery. If you can find them, Ross makes stakes that contain fertilizer and plant food. You pound them into the ground around your roses and it controls all pests all season. Home Depot used to carry it.
Yes. If you want to be organic, mix a little dish or hand soap in water and spray your leaves. It will keep the nasty critters off. Otherwise, go to your local harware or nursery and get rose care. It come in a spray or dust and will help keep the bugs off too.
. Buy yourself a bag of Ladybugs. And or a nest of praying Mantis. These are natural bug eaters. You don't have to use poisons, to get rid of those pests. And the ladybugs and mantis will come back every year.
A good dusting with Diatomaceous Earth will remedy that problem. DE, as it is called is not a poison and is completely harmless to anything other than insects. Its know in harware stores as garden dust.
