Bat house?
Question:We have had some trouble with bats gathering in our house. If we purchase a bat house does it need to be located close to where they have been gathering?

Yes. It should be close to where they are already gathering. It needs to be high up. I would say around 10-12 feet off the ground. Thank you for trying to relocate them and not exterminating them. Bats are wonderful creatures which consume thousands of mosquitos and other pesky insects and rarely harm humans.
You will need to place it as close to where they are trying to go in and out of house as possible. After they get used to it you can mount where you like . I move the ones I build away from house to woods .6 ft off ground . Been 2 yrs still in use. But when gets cold you may find them hunting for warmer (your house ) Area.
