Would you buy a down/feather mattress topper, or, a memory foam mattress topper?

Question:I've heard the memory foam toppers hold in heat and can make you sweat a lot. Is this true? What about for the down feather mattress toppers?

Which one is more comfortable? I'm looking for something that will make me feel like I'm sleeping on the softest mattress you could ever dream of sleeping on.

Which one lasts the longest?

What are your favorite brands?

Answers:
I have had both a down and a memory foam mattress cover. I personally prefer the memory foam. I have been sleeping on it for 2 years with abslolutely no complaints. I would say to replace it every 4 years, although I haven't reached that point yet. I put mine on top of my existing mattress because it had gotten very uncomfortable and required turning every month or so. That was a big headache. I haven't turned it since. A memory foam mattress is quite a hefty investment, but that is what I will go with if I purchase another mattress. So far I have had no complaints with the setup I have now with memory topper.

I don't know if you suffer from alergies, but the memory foam would definitely be better in that case. I have a down comforter on my bed now and the down is beginning to get flat, which is also not a worry with memory foam.

Which ever way you decide to go, have SWEET DREAMS.

I bought a 2 inch memory foam topper from Sam's Club for about $125. It's great. Some people, though, are allergic to the memory foam. Sam's Club gets a lot of them back for that reason.
I got my daughter a memory foam one and she loves it. She gets really hot when she sleeps and doesn't feel any difference with it on. I highly recommend one! We got ours at WalMart. It was about $50 for a twin size.
I LOVE A DOWN FEATHER MATTRESS TOPPER!!! SO MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE THAN MEMORY FOAM,COST ABOUT THE SAME AND LASTS MUCH LONGER!!
I would not recommend the memory foam mattress! We had 2 mattress within 1 year and finally gave up. Yep, they kept their shape and it was always there right where you laid and never regained the natural shape. We paid $2,000 for the great mattress and finally after the company replaced it 2 times ( after 2 inspections) we exchanged it for a regular mattress. It's your call but do your homework.. Buy the 2 inch special from Walmart, it's much cheaper...
Feather topper is much cheaper but also warm. My son sleeps on one yaer around and loves it.
You can always shake and reshape the feathers, you can't do that on a mattress.
Buy a Sealy..
I have a 4" memory foam topper on my platform bed. The most comfortable thing I ever had. I always had back pain but not anymore. I don't think you going to sweat in it, altought sometimes it's warm. For good pricing check overstock.com, you can also search for coupons for this website, I usually find 10% off coupons so it is cheaper. They have review's for the mattresses and they sell feather toppers too.
