Concealed heating element is a must. It stops things melting if they get dislodged.
A delay timer is nice as well.
i was told once that the quieter the machine is the better the quality so maybe you can ask the reps about that. there are SO many out there! My parents have a nice one that they can put on a timer so that we can load during the day and then at night it clicks on. its pretty groovy man!
that you have a man to unload it
1.The energy rating it has, 2.It's water usage- look for most efficient for both of these. Also check out it's cycle options to see if shorter cycles are possible and check it's decibel info- there's few things worse than having to listen to it going all night!
There is only one very important point to remember when choosing a dishwasher, Is she as efficient, smooth running and reliable in the bedroom as she is when washing the dishes.
This is meant to be joke so don't lets have lots of boring sad politically correct people leaving outraged messages, its to zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
quietness, depending on location,Bosch is the most quiet that I know of, $$$$, Don't get a cheap one, both " builders grade"DW's that I've had went bad in 7/8 years, so sometimes you get what you pay for.
Energy efficent and make sure that it has a sprayer for the upper rack and not just one for the bottom rack. You can save energy by not using the drying feature, I have never used mine and the dishes come out great.I also wash all my glasses by hand as dishwashing detergent will etch them and make them look cloudy..I have a Kitchen Aid and I love mine...I have also had a Maytag which was a good dishwasher.
Different temperature settings and economy programmes - lower temp. if you want to wash glassware or delicate things, low power consumption and low water consumption if your water is metered.
I like your Q, Here is something I tell my friend´s ,when you do buy a dishwasher, take your cutlery along with you , as The basket for them seem to all come in the same size, and if you have fancy handles on your cutlery ,they won´t fit in.
Look for adjustable racks & buy the best you can afford Bosch is pretty good & comes with a free second year garuntee
