Transplanting bamboo??

Question:i dug up a shoot and cut it out with part of the rhizome attached for transplanting. there are roots also attached. i would like to know if it will live and how long it will take to send new shoots and grow-if it survives-.if this is not the best way to transplant shoots-not culms- then what is.

Answers:
Bamboo is like a fast growing, super weed. It's almost impossible to kill. Let it soak in water for a day and then just stick it in damp soil. It should take right off.
Be advised, bamboo is a very invasive plant. I wouldn't plant it in my yard. They tend to grow out of control and are very difficult to kill.
