Is my microwave broken?
Question:the light comes on and the turntable goes round but nothing is heating. Is it a simple fix - or time for a new one?
Answers:
I'm afraid your microwave has joined all the other microwaves in microwave heaven. You'll have to bury him in a square grave.
Ours was doing the same. Nothing could be done.
Microwave: RIP
I'd just say Wal-Mart Durabrand it up and get a new one
probably cost more to repair just get a new one
Time for new one .
buy a new one they are really cheap these days
new one
Get a new one. They're not that expensive anymore. You can most likely pick up a new one for what it would cost to fix the one you have!
Magnetron or PSU fault. £50 at ASDA for a new one.
Sounds like the magnetron is toast. New units start at less than $50.00. I would be surprised if you could fix it for that.
(PS, you picked a good name, The Doctor forever)
put your hamster in it if walks out after 2 mins then yep its broke
Sounds like your Megatron has died and it is definitely time for a new one. If nothing else worked in it I would tell you to go inside it and replace a fuse. You need a new microwave.
You could always recycle it as a really modern looking planter in the garden though!
it's broke.
sorry to say time for a new one
they are so cheap now mine
was under £40. 750 watt
the part's cost more than
the a new oven!!
Microwaves are pretty much disposable today unless they are the big built in variety. It sounds to me like the Magnetron is not energizing. It could be a capacitor. Either way, its probably best to recycle the defective unit and purchase a new one. The part and repair could be twice what the unit cost new, if not more. If it is a larger family sized unit, get it serviced. The cost of replacement could be $800-$1000 and the repair may be accomplished for much less. It is possible that a fuse is also blown. These are usually found by removing the entire housing of the microwave. I do not recommend this as some of the capacitors that are found in the units will hold an electrical charge for months and can harm and/or kill you.
new one.
or your screwed with cold food.
Did you try to boil an egg in it??
My mum tried to do that a few years ago but put it on for too long and the whole thing blew up, egg was everywhere!! hehe
