When I moved into my house last year we had a lot of ear wigs, silver fish, spiders.....the ear wigs really like moist dark areas so that's why you found one near your sink. What I did was purchase Bengal Spray-it works really good and doesn't stink very bad. It was kinda easy for me because we didn't have alot of stuff. I just sprayed EVERYWHERE. The perimter of the house inside and outside. Every nook and cranny. Under the sink in the cabinet is a good place to spray. Then I just left the house for about six hours or so and then disenfected when I came back. I think I did this once one month and again the next month just to make sure. I haven't had any since then..bengal works soooooo good. I used two cans but we have a pretty big house.

They were always in my kitchen by the sink and in the bathrooms. Don't leave dirty dishes out or food. I had a sack of potatoes on the counter and found one in there....ewwwww

you know - most bugs are harmless - it all depends on your personal flinch point. IF they creap you out - you can get some bengal or bug spray and do it yourself. If you need assurance - get a bug man to start you on a regimen. We have Orkin here in our area and I am on a quarterly spray. Their product does not smell and they are in and out in 20 minutes. Cost effective too - prices vary though.

Lots of people think that calling the bug man is for infestation or emergencies - you can do that, but also you can take preventative action long before you have a problem.
sorry i dont know anything about them
earwigs love damp conditions, thats why you normally find them under old logs in gardens or whatever.. you could have a damp problem in your house, so you need to ensure better ventilation and they live on timber, so keep an eye out if there is any rotting timber in your house, normally I see them in old houses, that need repair..but if your house is new, then I'd say its a damp problem
