No. I do not think it is stupid. People buy what they like& where they like based on their individual preferences. I am a walmart fan, because I love a good bargain. But I am also a careful shopper, I compare prices , read labels, and generally will opt for quality first, based on the performance of a device, or the particular ingredients in the product.Despite loving a bargain, my personal motto is "Buy cheap, buy again".While cheap does not necessarily mean less quality, sometimes, just like overpriced items it is.So, I shop any store for good quality, at the smallest expense possible. I think we all try to achieve this. Except for those who do not consider cost as an issue.
haha, target bashing has been common tonight. i would rather go to walmart vs. target anyday. regardless of prices. target is just too yuppie for me or something. i get bad vibes in that store.
You might want to check to be sure that it's the 'same'. WalMart has become so powerful that it has the power to 'force' a manufacturer to offer something which APPEARS the same, but is of lesser quality.
All things appear equal to the untrained eye, save for one tiny digit difference in the model number.
Many times, especially in cases of appliances, the model number will contain a "W" at the end. Guess what that stands for ?

In an ethical sense, yes. But, the enviroment in Target is alot nicer, and I feel better in that store.

I think that it is poor judgment to buy anything from WalMart. Poorly made cheap goods from China have proven themselves to be deadly; lead-based paint on Thomas trains, pet food with poison, pharmaceuticals of questionable contents and low-wage workers assembling items that are not inspected. More money going to China than coming back, Chinese businesses buying US real estate and corporations. The greed's gotta stop.

For me, it's often a matter of convenience. Whichever one can I get in and out of the quickest if I'm in a hurry. For some items, I don't go to either store... they cost less at the dollar store, and it's quicker to get in and out there. So, nah, I don't necessarily think it's stupid. It's a matter of preference and, for some, willingness to pay more or not based on convenience.
if you are comparing apples to apples but many times just becuase it is a computer desk at Walmart and a computer desk at Target doesnt make them both apples. If it was the exact same pair of jeans then yes, but if i am buying Larryvies at walmart and levis at target then no.
Many Companys will make 2 of thesame products that looks the same on the surface but in quality are not. Walmart requires companies to meet price levels to get their product into their chain. some companies do this by making a product with less features in order to be able to sell walmart the product at the price that walmart has determined their target (no pun intended) market will buy at.
Read the lable and make sure they are the same is the best advise
Time is money, and only once, have I ever been to Walmart, and not had to wait a half hour in line behind some old lady paying with a check followed by some trashy parents and their whiny punk kids. The price difference at target isn't much and I DO think it's actually worth it so they can pay their workers a little more so I don't get an underpaid miserable idiot as my cashier.
No, not stupid at all. Target is a higher class, better quality type store. There may be some things that are the same but I'm not wasting gas to go 5-10 miles out of my way for a few cents.
Also I think people are ticked off with Walmart's Huge profits and crappy pay and benefits for their employees. This not the Walmart Mr. Walton started. He'd not be pleased at the way it's being run now.
I would rather go to WalMart then Target myself. People that like to spend more money on things they can get at a better price just like to throw their money away, I would rather get twice as much for my money.
