Go to the phone book and look up pest control and let the pros take care of this. That size of red ant hill is to much to do a do-it-yourself. And this needs to be done the sooner the better. These ants can kill small animals and hurt kids.
E>H> you are talking about a "Fire Ant" Hill and those pesky little things will bite the S*** out of you. I Live in NC and we have them really bad. The easiest method we have found for a sure kill is to Boil a Big Pot Of Water and Add I cup of Bleach to it. Pour it over the mound and I promise you they will die. Gasoline will also Kill a Fire Ant Mound but it will also kill the Grass , and at the price of Gas Now adays, Boiling Water and Bleach is the best way to go..
use Acclaim ... it gets rid of all crawling insects
