Should I move?

Question:Okay details. I moved to the area in Jan. this year and had to find a place fast, so we found a 3 bedroom, 1 bath for $450 a month and had a $450 deposit, NO pets allowed. Well there are 2 windows with cracks in the glass, The toilet is messed up(it runs all the time), The landlord doesn't fix anything and when rent is due he is always out of town but when he comes back if it is past the 10th of the month he charges a late fee even though he was the one gone out of town.
A place has come open beside my aunt that is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, fenced side yard(great for 2 year old daughter), And I can have all the pets I want. It is also only $300 a month with no deposit. What should I do? Should I move? Would you move if it was you?
P.S. I have a yorkshire terrior and a cat 300 miles from here with my husbands mom because we couldn't have them here.

Answers:
This is a no-brainer - move, plain and simple. Also, the first time this idiot tried charging me a late fee for the reason you've stated above, I'd request his mailing address and inform him that from now on, he'd be receiving the rent check in the mail. There is nothing in landlord/tenant relations that requires you to physically hand him a check as opposed to him receiving it in the mail. This maggot sounds like the type of individual who will attempt to stick you with some type of reason to keep your deposit (if you gave one). Be very careful.

Yes, most definitely move. Sounds like the place by your aunt is much better for all of you. Good luck!

Your landlord now is a shyster.
Moving may be a possible solution to your problem but before you do document times youve reported damage to your landlord (include dates). Also, take a few pictures and send all of this to your states housing authority. Know your rights as a renter, and as a citizen. Hey, you may get a refund.
I'd DEFINETLY move, especially since it's better, cheaper, close to family and allows pets, I just bought a house but before I couldn't imagine living without my dogs!
Move it is going to cost alot in the long run. also your pets miss you. but its your choice
Why wouldn't you it's cheaper, another bathroom, no more stupid landlord, and you get to have your pets back. Unless would be a big hassle for you, you should do it.
