How can I keep store bought roses fresh for 24 hrs?

Question:I bought 5 bouquets of roses and I'm afraid that they will all die before I can give them to my friends the next day. How can i keep them fresh and alive?

Answers:
5 bouquets of roses is a lot of roses to put in the refrigerator!
As soon as you get home get a large container big enough to accomodate all flowers. You might need a bucket. Add warm water about 6 to 8 inches high. Cut the ends of the stems at an angle about 1/2 inch to 1 inch with a sharp knife or floral clippers and put your flowers in water immediately. Keep your bucket of flowers in a cool place away from direct sun. The flowers will be fresh and alive for 24 hours and more.

Put them in some water and in the fridge, if you have room. This should keep them fresh until the next day.
If they are dry stemmed, recut the ends (at least two inches)and put them in warm water. Place the whole thing in a cool place.
When you first get the roses home, cut the end of the stems off. This gives the rose a fresh stem to drink up plant food. Normally when you buy flowers it comes with a small packet of plant food, follow the directions on the back. If they didn't come with plant food, an alternative is sprite or 7 up any type of clear soda. The roses will drink up the sugar and come to life.

Hope this helps! Good luck!
You can keep them in the fridge if theres no fresh veggies in there with them
ONCE YOU GET THEM HOME, TAKE THEM OUT OF THE PACKAGING, AND RECUT THE BOTTTOM OF THE STEMS ON AN ANGLE.

IMMEDIATELY PLACE THEM IN A VASE OF WATER AND A TABLESPOON OF SUGAR.

PUT THEM IN THE FRIDGE UNTIL YOU ARE READY FOR THEM.

YOU CAN ALSO ASK THE PLACE YOU ARE GETTING THEM FROM IF THEY HAVE SOME WATER PICKS YOU COULD HAVE, MOST OF THE TIME AMYWHERE THAT SELLS FLOWERS HAS WATER PICKS,

FILL THE PICK WITH WATER, PUT THE CAP ON, CUT THE BOTTOME OF THE STEM ON AN ANGLE AND PUSH THE STEM INTO THE TOP OF THE PIC.

YOUR STILL NEED TO REFRIGERATE THEM OVER NICHT BUT NOW YOU CAN LAY THEM DOWN IF THEY ARE TOO TALL TO STAND IN A VASE.
