Which way should my ceiling fan turn during the summer? Clock wise or counter?
Question:
Answers:
clockwise will make the wind blow down which is what you want in the summer. during the winter you can have the fan go counter-clock wise and it will blow the air up and circulate the room. there should be a little switch on the fan somewhere to change that...hope that helps
It really doesn't matter.
Whichever way forces air directly down from the fan instead of extracting air towards the ceiling light a match underneath and put it out.. see it the smoke rises, towards the fan , or if it is dispersed sporadically away from the tip. If its rising towards the fan, then change rotation.
Counter clockwise to pull the cool air up towards the ceiling and circulate it in your room. Clock wise with push the warm air down and that will just make the lower air warmer. Probably not what your going for :)
Clockwise pushes air down. Counterclockwise pulls air up...
Winter - Heat rises - turn fan on low to blow the warm air down toward you
Summer - Speed up fan to blow air on you like normal fan or slow it down an reverse it to suck the warm air up.
