I need some flower tips. Tips on keeping pretty flowers indoors. My daughter picked me some?

Question:flowers from the yard. 1 tulip and I think the others are daisy's.
They are white petals with a yellow middle.
Well, anyway, I have them in water now, but how do I keep them? Other than keeping them in water, should I put plant food in the vase?
I'm not at all a flower person but my daughter keeps getting them for me anyway.

Answers:
i once heard that a good way to keep flowers fresh longer is to put a penny in the vase with the water. i thought it was a joke, but i tried it once, and my flowers looked gorgeous for about two weeks, and they lasted nearly a month. i also learned to put in an aspirin, too. apparently, the copper penny acts as a fungicide and the aspirin provides acidic properties to water.

lemonade cause it contains sugar and also because it is carbonated which in turn speeds up the nutritional process for feeding your flowers
Cut the stems at an angle. Not too short though, put a few drops of bleach in the water... literally drops. Or you'll kill them! You can also try putting a aspirin in the water if you don't have bleach. Do one or the other. Don't do both bleach & aspirin!

Also, use room temp water, not hot or cold.

Last but not least, stems are like human flesh... when you cut them, they will heal keeping the water from getting to the plant. So each day take them and snip them a tiny bit more at an angle.

I hope this works for you!
Old wives tale- drop an aspirin in the water in your vase. Tulips don't last long once cut; but a daisy always last longer. She's sweet. You might won't to press one between two paper towels to save or she could glue it to picture to draw for your spouse, granny or whomever.
