You want to make "tinder" for fireplaces. You can dry pinecones and dip them with cinnamon candle wax... You can get kiln dried pine/wrapped or tied together with rafia or plain twine.. You can get the long fireplace matches and bundle those together...
use sawdust and finely shredded paper, mix these well. add melted wax. mix well pour into a square cake pan to about 1/2 inch thick. allow to set, then set pan in warm water for a few seconds and turn over it should pop right out . use a sharp knife and cut into small squares or shred it. clean up the mess with a good soap and hot water.
