Carpender Ant problem...?

Question:We just now(for about a month) got an infestation of carpenter ants. Also known as cement ants... The first week we would see about 3 ants, kill them all, then never see them again for a week...It eventually got shorter and shorter and the ants got bigger and bigger...We have two bathrooms in our house. We have pets which is the reason we haven't got an exterminator. We found the outside problem, and we have sprayed and flooded the area. But then, two days later there's a giant colony back that has moved a foot to the right where we destroyed it at! Just a few minutes ago, I went to take a shower, and to my surprise there were about 25 just pouring out from where the fouset comes out of the wall! I got the caulk and sealed the area, which I have done about 5 times now...That is the problem with both bathrooms! They have also ventured out and three times a week there in the living room...I'm at a total lose, please help!

Answers:
ant traps where the ants go in and eat the food work well but if you say you have pets this might be a problem as they could play with them. Ummm, is there any way to find out where the nest is? If so, then a good trick is to just go and pour bleach down the nest! Good luck! If you can't get an exterminator then perhaps you could at least call one and ask if they have products safe for homes with pets.
