General electric extended warrenty...for refrigerator purchased at Circuit City, in Sarasota, Fl.?

Question:We bought a Maytag side-by-side refrigerator about 6 years ago from Circuit City, and purchased an extended warrenty 2 times. Circuit City no longer sells refrigerators, and evidently sold their extended warrenty contracts to General Electric. Our refrigerator has stopped running and we have called the number on our contract, gotten a confirmation no. and the recording says we've been assigned to Desoto Appliances, RPR and to call them to check on our repair time. I called them, and they said they no longer service the Sarasota, Fl. area, and faxed the work order back to GE. We cannot get ahold of anyone at GE extended warrenty to tell them this fact, and when we call, we just keep getting a recording that says we have an appointment scheduled with this business that will not service our area! Meanwhile, our food is spoiling, and we're getting very upset. If we don't get some action soon, we plan to contact TV channel 8 in Tampa. They investigate consumer complaints. Help us!
