When is a good time to plant a strawberry plant?

Question:I want to plant my, but, is it ok to plant it in the summertime??

Answers:
Plant them in the fall. It will give the roots a chance to develop before spring. Just make sure to mulch the strawberries and water them throughout the winter. They will emerge this spring and very possibly they will flower in an attempt to fruit, however, you will want to deflower the plants for the first season because this will allow the plant to develope a very strong root system which will result in a hardier plant and a much larger yield of strawberries later. It totally sucks to wait, but believe me it is well worth it. Good luck.

They do better if you plant them in the spring
any time is good as long as you mantain it cold!
depending-on where you lI've, ive found that if you plant them in the fall and cover before the first frost.you will have great plants come spring.
