Are the thorns of honey locust trees poisonous?

Question:

Answers:
Poisionous, no. Painful, yes!

Well, let me start by saying I'm not sure if the thorns that punctured my father in law and myself while making maple syrup earlier this year were honey locusts, but I can find no other tree that meets the same description. So, assuming they were honey locust thorns, we both had a bad fevers throughout the following night. I am never sick so I found this unusual. We compared notes and concluded that it must have been the honey locust thorns and not the copious amounts of beer consumed. How can we be so sure? Well, we both had consumed plenty of beer before in our lives, but neither of us had been stuck with such a thorn before.

Scientific proof? Maybe not, but I'm a lot more careful around these trees now.
