Is it safe to use the sprinkler water from a waste water treatment system for a vegetable garden.?

Question:I am considering use water that uses chlorinated tablets. We are concerned about chemicals absorbed into the plants as well as other microbacterial presence in the water . Would the it be safe to eat?

Answers:
yes its extremely safe. Waste water treatment plants really clean the water - they say its safe enough to drink, but I wouldnt do that

What type of waste water are you referring to? I have seen people use dishwater and even from the washing machine to water plants and vegetables. If it was from human waste, I don't think I would use it.
NOOOOOO!!, do you want to DIE!!?!?!?! lol jk. i wouldnt recomended.
Check with your County Agent or local Health Department.
Explain your situation to them. They will be able to help you.
If you're talking about the water they sprinkle on waste, then absolutely no, don't use it. It undoubtedly contains chemicals that you don't want in your garden.

If you're talking about the water that is the end product of the treatment plant, then sure you can use it.

If the waste water treatment system is operated by the government (city, county or state) then the water is safe for nearly any purpose. They have regulations they must follow for producing safe water and they are generally very strict.

I wouldn't hesitate to use it on a garden. If you're still worried about using it, go to the treatment plant and let them show you what they do (you'll be impressed).
In some states there is law against using a Grey water
system !!

better check with the city first !!
