What`s the easiest and safest way to get rid of ants in the kitchen...?

Question:

Answers:
Find where they are coming in and smear a dish soap cirlce a few inches around the opening with your finger. The ants 'will not' cross this boundary. I've gotten rid of ants in two houses this way. I still can't get my parents to do it with their ants though. If you clean, smear a new circle. Works great!

Diatomaceous earth,

I hate pesticides and was amazed at how the Diatomaceous earth got rid of ants almost immediately compared to the hassle of ant traps and sprays. This is your best option, mix it with sugar and put it where they'll find it.
I call Terminix to come & spray when insects are present. No harsh smelling odors to deal with when the man comes. The ants are gone before you know it. If they return, he'll come back to respray & won't charge you extra. I used to buy Terro for getting rid of ants, they took it off the market because of one ingredient it contained. Not sure if it's back on the market or not but it worked really well.
I HATE ants!! They don't like the smell of cider vinegar. I wipe down my baseboards daily with the vinegar. If you can find where they are coming from you could put a line of powder laundry soap across it. They get stuck in it and don't like the smell. If you have pets or little ones you need to be careful that they don't eat it. I've heard borax works the same way. I have also poured bleach into the hole they made under my baseboards. You pretty much have to play defense until the "ant season" is over. Good luck.
Trace where they are coming from. Usually from outside, or up from your basement. There are many chemical sprays, raid ant traps, etc. that you can purchase from a Home Depot or Lowes. BUT if you buy cinnimon, yes, ground powdered cinnamon and pour a line of it all around the foundation of your home (close against where the wall & dirt meet) your problem should go away. Ants will not cross a line of cinnamon. Make sure your counters are clean, any pet food not being eaten picked up, no open bowls of sugar left out, bread crumbs emptied from your toaster (big culpret), and any other crumbs wiped up. They are there for food. Take away the supply - they move on!
There are not any preventative products on the market that a homeowner can buy that are effective. As far as things you can do,Eliminate conducive conditions,Make sure there is no wood-soil contact, trees touching the home, moisture conditions in the home or against it,rotten wood is replaced and sealed, mulch is not piled against the house, and firewood is stored away from the home. The only products that will work are done by a professional,do not take shortcuts in protecting your home.Call a Pest Control Professional and have a proper treatment performed. The best products are baits.Sprays just scatter the ants and will result in a larger infestation
