Iron ur underwears b4 use!
last year, we used this stuff from The Home Depot that worked. It was in a black bottle w/ a yellow top. It said it killed red ants, but it kills black ants too. It is a powder that you just sprinkle over the ant mounds.
Mix a little boric acid (borax) with a little Karo syrup and put a few drops on a small square of cardboard. Set it in near where they run back and forth where they'll find it. It will get rid of ants. If you have little dogs or cats, put it where they won't lick it. The boric acid will give them terrible gas.
I accidentally found a great ant killer to use where you don't want anything toxic ---Simple Green spray. Works instantly.
Ive used boric acid and icing sugar, equal part of each left in area's the ants are, works like a charm, climates here are the worse.
Use regular ant spray from Raid; find the ant hill ans spray around it. Then check every few days for new ones and keep doing it until they all die.
For ants on the counter top, wipe down the counter top with white undiluted vinegar. To prevent ants from coming into the house, or getting into cupboards, sprinkle dried mint or red pepper where they are entering the house and in the cupboards. If you know where the anthills are, make a mixture of 50 percent borax (sold in laundry aisle of supermarkets) and 50 percent confectioner's sugar and place near anthill. The ants are attracted to the sugar and carry the fatal borax/sugar combination back to the nest to feed the queen and other ants. Soon all ants will be dead. Do not put this mixture where children and pets can ingest it. To get rid of anthills, pour 3 gallons of boiling water down them. This is best when done when the ants are active and at the surface. Do not do it near flowers or they will die.
