Okay,we have fleas in the house...but we have NO pets! How do you get rid of them? And how did we get them?

Question:We have no pets, and live in an apartment. We hardly ever go outside, but somehow a couple fleas managed to get in! I have only seen a couple here and there. I know they multiply and rapidly, so how do i get them out?! If you have any answers to how they got in please let me know! My husband works in the demolition business, could he bring them home? Thanks

Answers:
you probably carried them in from outside on yourselves, most bombs work well, however, you need to rebomb after two weeks to get rid of the newly hatched ones, otherwise you're wasting your time, try to keep the lawn work current, that should help

you can use antiflea pet shampoo in your rug cleaner to kill them. Also, flea sprays are available.
Best is to hire a pest control company to spray.
Remember that you should keep toddlers off the floors for a few days.
You need to flea bomb your house. you can but it at any home improvement store open the windows and leave the house for a few hours. That should take care of that problem.
do you have long grass or a field around you?
Sometimes they just get on your clothes and spread like crazy.
good luck
You most likely got those flees if (you have children) and they have lots of furry toys, anything of that feel/material flees are attracted to.
Fleas live in grass. I had to treat my whole yard because they got so bad this year. They them jump onto your clothes and get a free ride inside. I think the "bombs" work best for killing them inside because it gets into areas that you can't vacuum.
1st thing you need to determine is are they sand fleas or fleas from animals. Are you in an area with sandy type soil. If you are they can get in any way. If it is animals do your neighbors have any animals? Or could you possibly have any rodents that has come into your house? These questions need to be answered so you won't continue to have the problem. Now to get rid of them they are not easy at all. You could call a professional like orkin, or you could give it a try yourself. You could bug bomb, then follow up with a spray. But you will have to do it more than once since the sprays often do not kill the larva. and once they hatch you will need to spray again.
Fleas can be picked up,on your clothes, while walking across the grass.
Bug bombs are best for fleas. Just read the directions and use the correct number of units for your homes' square feet measurement.
