Insect ? cannot figure out the bug?
Question:I live in Indiana and 50 miles north of Indy. There is this insect in my front tree they look like a lightening bug the head of the bug, and flies like a lightening bug. But up close they are not there are everywhere in my tree. The tree leaves got hit by the freeze in early spring and the bug is going for the leaves that never develloped also there are quite a few butterflies and moths too.

Check with the cooperative extension service - connected with the university - they should have master gardeners to give you a hand with identifying your bugs. You could also bag a few and take them to the local nursery for help.
Best thing to do is to capture one in a glass jar and take it to a nature cener . the should be able to tell you what it is.
