Can i over feed my plants with miracle grow?


Question:I planted a garden..I have onions,potatoes,tomatoes,peppe... and watermelon...my Q is can i over feed these with miracle grow? also i remember my mom putting lime on her plants...what is this for...what plants need it and how much?HELP! ty

Answers:
You can overfertilize anything. For houseplants I would give a small amount of miracle grow weekly (mixed per directions) - for outdoor plants in a broader landscape, feed it more generously weekly or every other week. If you read the instructions on the miracle grow, it will give you some idea as to the application amounts. I have some plants that are grown in closer proximity and I usually fertilize them all together.

In addition to the above mentioned uses for lime - it also deters snakes...


yes there is such a thing as too much fertilizer...it can kill the plants.
The lime would be to counter act the acidic soil.
You can overfeed any plant with any fertilizer if you give the plants too much.
As far as I know, lime makes the ground more acidic, so give it to plants that like higher acidity
