Anyone tell me the law regarding partition fencing?

Question:Is there any way fencing should be facing, meaning, do the slats have to be facing towards neighbouring garden? In other words can one put the "nice side" facing towards the owner of the fence?, some had said that the law says that the posts had to not face towards the person errecting the fence. Is this a wind up or genuine info, know this is where I!ll get the right answer. This is to save having to reverse sides if errected incorrectly. Thanx for help, please.

If you have an HOA odds are the "nice" side of the fence has to face out and the posts be inside the fence along with the "ugly" side. Why would you want to face the "ugly" side out? Erect the fence with the attractive side out. If you dont odds are people will assume you had no idea what you were doing when you put it up. We all dont like our neighbors but if you put the ugly side out it makes your own property unattractive
