What is the best way to get rid of....??
Question:my daughter left some juice in my bedroom when she was sick and attracted stupid ants ive tried raid bug killer by home defense and the ones that were out were dead but how do i kill the whole nest but i need somethiung that is NOT harmful to my kids we are stuck sleeping in the living room until i can get rid of them b\c i dont want them to get on or in the kids' ears and mouth let alone my own!!!!

bay leaves. i'm pretty sure ants either hate the smell of them or hate the taste of them. it's one or the other, but i know bay leaves work.

What you have are sugar ants and they are easily baited. The bait is taken back to the nest and kills the whole bunch of them, look for it at a home center or department or food store.
just get a new house.
well i personally think the best way is to call an exterminator.if not they usually leave in the summer...I don't know...
Ants don't build nests, just follow the track and spray it with window cleaner or some kind of disinfectant like 409. Get rid of the source that attracted them in the first place.
coffee grounds or perrermint around the exterior of the house is supposed to work. or a string soaked in lemon juice, cayanne pepper or cinnamon. is supposed to work.
I haven't tried any of these but have heard they work. also to kill the whole nest I knew a lady who used Vodka as a natural bug killer, she used it mainly for ants. and it won't hurt your kids. just be careful that if you use the string soaked in cayanne pepper that the kids don't touch it. they could transfer it to their eyes.
If you know were the ant hill is, pour some Tide or 20 Mule Team Borax on the hill. It might burn your grass though. Also for ants in the house, put down instant mash potato flakes.
You could also take and sprinkle the 20 Mule Team Borax on the floor, I would test a small area first fo make sure it won't do anything to your carpet, and then vacuum up in the morning.
Dont' forget to put some around any opening you have in the floor that goes either outside or to the basement. Put it around your doorways outside also.
My mom also uses ground cloves on the counter for small ants.

i use to use cucumber peels(safe for all except the ants)
to keep from coming in rub the area that they are getting in thru and if you know where the hill is i have taken half a cucumber put in blender pour in hill and in a circle about 4inches around it

The best thing I have found is to go find one of those bug foggers ( I usually go to walmart), and get one that keeps killing for 1 or 2 weeks after. It will kill the ants and drive any ants, or other insects that attempt to come into the house weeks after you fogged the house. You only have to stay out of the house for 2 hours (some are 3 or 4 hours). I've had similar problems and those Foggers that keep on killing are a godsend for that situation, and if fleas get in your house... :) Hope that helps
