What is the cheapest way to get rid of termites?
Question:I have thrown rotted wood over in neighbor's yard to attract the termites to his house but some of them still hang around mine. An extermintor is too costly.

There is a product called malathon that you can purchase at a feed store or Walmart. It not only kill termites but wasp and ants and other insect. You follow directions on it to mix product a little goes along way. One other thing it smells for a little while use it mostly outside and not around children . Keep in and area no child can get it.
Believe it or not DE (Diatomacious Earth), yes the stuff you put in your pool filter, is one of the safest and most effective ways to controlling termites. Mix 1 part DE and 1/4 part boric acid and use it like a paint on all your wood surfaces. Also spray your attic and crawl space with the mixture (make it more watery so you can use a sprayer). Borax will work also. Remember to use a mask if you use Borax.
