I've got bugs! They look like big lightening bugs with really long antennae. Any identification help?
Question:They seem to be some type of beetle. They are solid black with the exception of their orangey-colored head. They look a lot like a lightening bug except they are maybe 1 1/2 times the size and they don't light up. And they have very long antennae - almost the length of their body. They are six-legged creatures with two sets of wings - a hard outer shell wing and an inner wing used for flying. They seem to be attracted to water, as I have found several (dead) in a glass of water that was left out. They don't appear to have any preference of what time of day they are out. I have found them at all hours of the day. I don't think they bite humans (at least they haven't so far) but I find at least one of them in my house every day and I'd like to know what they are and get rid of them. Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated!
Answers:
I think my mom used to call them Mulberry bugs when I was little.
