What to do about these water roaches?

Question:SOME ONE PLEASE how the heck can i get rid of em or atleast keep them out of my room.

I am temp. living with my parents until an apt. opens. I just moved back to texas from Kansas while my husband is in Iraq.

They have a serious infest of these freakn things. I see about 3 a day in my room crawling on walls and stuff(im grossed out just from the size of them).

I had to pull my bed and my daughters crib from the wall to keep them off of me. I have a mesh cover that goes around her crib cause this is an old house and bugs get in, so to keep bugs off her. I hate spraying bug kiler cause of the smell and i dont want my duaghter breathing it in. Any way to get them away from my room atleast with out calling a bug expert.

It's gross cause they are 1-3 inches long and they are bigger than your house hold roach. I am so grossed out cause i get sick from seeing and thinking about them. I had a few crawl on me in my sleep I want to cry cause i get grossed out by these bugs.

These sound like American Roaches, which as big and scary as they are, they are better to have than German Roaches. Germans are the smaller ones you are referring to when you say "household roaches". American Roaches are similar to spiders in that they are not in the home to make it theirs, to live, feed, and breed there. They wander in for food or water and wander out again. Not so with their German cousins. These critters are invaders and are almost impossible to clear up once they are established inside your home.

On the not so bright side of things, both of these require professional assistance. But a simple exterior barrier will eliminate the American Roaches if it is applied on a regular quarterly (every three months) basis. While the German sort would need extensive interior work.
