How did pack rats get into the blower motor of my car's air conditioning and heating system?

Question:Pack rats also known I believe as the norway wood rat built little nests in my cars blower motor (Yuck) for the air conditioning and heating ventilation system. They also built nests in the air intake (air box) for the intake manifold. How did the little buggers get in? I am currently using rat bait packs. Any other suggestions?

Answers:
I worked on a ranch in washington state for a while and let me tell you, pack rats can get ANYWHERE!! They can squeeze through surprisingly small holes, pretty much anything they can fit their head through they can shimmy in.

I wouldnt recomend starting the car because who knows what theyve dragged into there, and the heat could start a fire or mess up a part of the engine.

If the bait doesnt work you could try to smoke them out or flush them out with water. Im not an engine expert though so make sure water isnt going to damage any of the potential areas before you try it.
