How do you get rid of oil stains on a driveway?
Question:

I use the kitty litter technique to absorb the oil first and then use a degreaser to remove the residue that will be left. There are a lot of choices, but regular old Dawn dishsoap breaks it down about as well any commerically prepared concrete cleaners and degreasers. I squirt some directly on the stain, add a tiny bit of water, agitate with a brush, leave it sit for a few minutes and rinse with a garden hose. It removes everything from power steering fluid to motor oil.
Soak it with brake-kleen.
Concrete or asphalt driveway? It makes a huge difference in how you treat it. In either case you can NOT get them completely out; but you can get most of it and it will eventually fade a little more. Generally, with asphalt driveways, most of them are in need of a sealcoat anyway so I would just have it sealcoated unless it's less than a couple years old.
Ive heard to use cat litter, but I think it only works if the stain is new or recent. My husband bought a product from wal-mart that help get stains out of cement and driveways, it was in the household tools and equipment isle with the ladders and garage stuff, ect. Good Luck
I heard if you sprinkle them with flour, the flour absorbs the grease, then you just hose it away. I have never tried this but you can look it up. Let me know if it really works
Use CLR and scrub it.
My father-in-law, when he was alive, owned an asphalt paving company. He would always set fire to the oil stain (of course staying with it) and let it burn until it burned out. Then he applied some sort of black primer paint to the stain if it was on blacktop and let it dry. On concrete you can cover the stain with cat liter or sand and let it absorb the oil and hopefully over time the stain will fade.
you never really get rid of the oil stains you can put kitty litter down and soak it up some but I've tried many different things and nothing i tried work.
Oxy Clean worked on the info-mercial.
I assume you're speaking of a concrete driveway. Kitty litter is the best thing to use. Just put it on and grind it in with your foot. It doesn't have to be new liter - just don't step on the soft lumps. Kitty litter is dried clay which is a great absorbent.
well i worked at Quick trip (gas station) and when we had to clean the slots we used kitty littler and a box. step 1 apply the kitty litter. step 2 step on your box and use you leg to move the box around the kitty litter. two or three times it should come right up. it always worked for me and my coworkers. hope that helped.
Kitty Litter to absorb the grease then spray with wd40 and scrub with wire brush and rinse with power washer. This assumes you're on a concrete driveway.
Scrub with clay, or kitty litter
