What is the best way to get rid of a family of beaver?
Question:On our lake we have a family of beaver. We have killed twenty-some and yet they still continue to build. Any suggestions for how to get rid of them??
Answers:
I don't know if trapping is legal where you are, but can try wrapping your trees with heavy screen or chicken wire. 2 feet up from the base should be plenty high enough. We ran into a beaver problem years ago and this method saved the trees. The beavers will look elsewhere for trees, or they might move out of the area.Good luck.Buddly
your violent.. killed 20 beavers? dont talk to me no more :(
Shave those beavers!
OMG! dont kill the beavers! thats really not good, you dont just go killing animals because they are living in the area where you so rudely plotted your house down in. they were there first, im sure you could find it in your heart to co-exist with them instead of ruthlessly trying to kill them off.
You don't get rid of them! You leave them alone and let them live in their natural habitat, they were there first! You should be ashamed of yourself for killing defenseless animals!
Call your county animal control.
My suggestion is to call your municipality first and find out if there is a protocol for removing non-hazardous animals. The animal control unit may just remove them and release them in a more suitable environment. If that is not possible, clear your property close to the water of suitable saplings for a while. It's a lot easier to trim trees than to try and catch wild animals.
They are a protected species that cost about 1500.00 apiece for killing now...wow you owe alot of money if the beaver police trample upon this!
