How can u put up a hammock(sp)?
Question:has poles
Answers:
If the thing has two poles, you will use a pole at each end. Not less than two guy ropes will be attached to the top of each pole, attached to stakes or trees at approximately 45 degree angles with respect to the line between the poles. The tension of the hammock, tied between the poles, working against the guy ropes, will keep everything upright. Life is somewhat simpler if you have two poles for each end; set them pairwise with the bases about five feet apart and meeting at the tops; then a single guy rope will suffice at each end.
rope it.
A hammock is something that produces high stresses for something that seems so insignificant. I would think about 500 lbs pull on each end. So the key is to use good hardware, and diagonal bracing for the poles.
Set the poles in a cardboard cylinder like 1' in diam and 2 1/2 ' deep, and vibate it to get the wet concrete all in there (or use a stick). Dig hole with gas powered auger, check with "Dig Safe" first, so you don't hit a line.
