What is the best way to get rid of WASPS?
Question:Every year they try to make nest under my roof where my deck is, I can't stand wasps does any have a great solution to getting rid of them. Every morning when the sun starts to warm up my deck here come the bees all day I have a couple of traps but they are more interested in making a nest, Help Me!

I had one hive of honey bees that was so mean they would attact you like yellow jackets . I had to get rid of all of them and this is what I done . I used a piece of 3/4 inch x 20 feet P V C pipe taped to my shop vac vacuum side . I tied the pipe in the middle and had it hanging from a tree limb . as the bee's came out I vacuum them in the vac I got every one in the vac and let it set for a few days to die then dumped them in trash. this also works for yellow jackets because you are 20 feet away they wont come after you
There is a spray you can buy that will "freeze" the whole nest and then you can knock it down in safety. I'm not sure if the spray is over the counter or not though.
it depends on how big the nest is. i always knock them down but you definately don't want to do that if there are tons of them.
i usually throw something at it and run like heck or something.
if you get those firework smoke balls. they will drive them away long enough to knock it down. just be safe though.
Yes, I agree. Take care of the current wasp nest first. Use a poisen and spray at night when the wasps are least active. Are you using the traps that contain a liquid that attracts wasps? Go to Lowe's/Home Depot and find different types of traps.
take a bottle of hair spray and a lighter. LIght the lighter the spray the hair spray making a home made flamethrower.
Wasps or bees? I'm assuming you meant wasps. As mentioned above, the wasps are "at home" as the sun begins to set. Purchase a can of wasp killer that throws the spray out....oh 10 feet or so. Blast those suckers. Then blast them again the next night. At this point you could knock down the next, stomp it to kill the developing babies inside and discard. Me, I always give them a third blast before I don the wasp killing dance.
Hi,Trap foraging Wasps in open jam jars that contain a mixture of jam,water, and detergent. Flying wasps can be sprayed with an aerosol spray.The way we used to do it ,is wait until dusk when they all go back into the nest,and we'd spray the heck out of them and run! That always worked.
It's funny you asked this question right after I read an article telling of something I've never heard of to thwart bees and wasps. It's a phony hornet's nest that hangs by cord nailed to your porch or deck. Looks like the real thing, too. Says wasps and bees avoid hornets because they'll attack them and use them as food for their young. Supposed to be a really good pest deterrent.
I wonder if it would attract hornets? Scary thought!

I feel your pain. We have swarms of them around the house in the summer. We use the Raid Wasp and Hornet killer. We (well, my husband does cuz I'm too scared) spray the nest around dusk or just when it starts to get light out when they're all in there. For wasps that get in the house I have a spray bottle with dish soap and water. I believe they breathe out of their abdomens and the soapy water suffocates them. I might try D J's suggestion but I'm not sure I can tell the difference between wasps and hornets. I believe what we have are wasps. You can also make a trap using a plastic liter pop bottle, cut the top off, put it back on upside down, staple it and put a sweet liquid in it. I did it last year but used coke and caught very few. These bees love the apples that fall on the ground so I'm going to try it again but use apple juice this time.
