I believe this might be a Sears and Roebuck catalog home. I am very serious. They sold them through the catalog at the turn of the last century. Here is a link for more info:

I don't know the name for this style house but do know it is NOT an American Foursquare.
An American foursquare has four dormers or gabled windows on the uppermost story of the house, one facing each direction. ie, one north, one south, etc.

I live in Rochester Ny and the type of house pictured is also common here in old working class neighborhoods. I believe they were built in the 30's.
