Anyone have first-hand experience with "mole chasers?"?
Question:Our yard is infested with moles this year. We've tried cat litter, mole repellent and even resorted to poison. The holes are so many that our yard is fast becoming a danger zone. Before I invest $60 for two ultra-sonic-ground vibrating mole chasers, I'd like to hear some first hand accounts of their success rate. Additionally, if anyone has any other ideas... PLEASE HELP

My wife bought two of those things a few years back. They look very space-age, made a very cool sound, and didn't work at all. I am not even sure where the devices ended up - the moles probably took them in their tunnel and use them as a back massager, for they sure didn't bother them...
The only thing that I know of that works are grasping traps (illegal here in WA), but they are a pain to set right, don't work all of the time, and only deal with the problem for a while, for if you live in good "mole country", the mole from next door will move right in to the newly vacant tunnel system. Poisons should be your last resort, of course, for you may kill many things besides the moles.
To be honest, we have kind of given up on the moles. We kick the mounds down before we mow or if they get too big or numerous, and just write the moles off as a cost of living in an area with fertile soil filled with the insects and worms they eat.
Good luck in your search for a solution. If you find one, tell everyone!
